Student Council Information

The Student Council plays a vital role in enhancing student involvement in school decision-making and teaching the principles of democracy. Each class elects one representative through a secret ballot after they present their qualifications as candidates, serving as the voice of their class for the school year.

Meeting Details:

  • Frequency: The Student Council meets every Thursday.
  • Facilitators: Meetings are guided by teachers Mr. O'Dowd, Ms. Breen, and Mr. Walsh. Council representatives gather ideas and suggestions from their classmates prior to each meeting.
  • Agenda: Suggestions are discussed, prioritized, and then presented to the school principal and staff meetings.

Recent Initiatives:

Our Student Council has successfully implemented several positive changes in the school, including:

  • Wellbeing days
  • Fundraising for new sports equipment and charities
  • Enhancements to the school yard
  • Organizing special events

Each member of the Student Council is assigned a specific role, such as president, secretary, photographer, display monitor, or communication liaison.
